Colorado’s Rocky Mountains are undoubtedly among the top destinations in the world for breathtaking landscape and wildlife photography.

Join us at the height of the mesmerizing autumn season in the expansive wilderness of Colorado! Experience the vibrant colors, and stunning aspen forests during the fall foliage in of it's their glory!

These majestic American landscapes have captivated my photographer’s heart for over a decade. From the rugged peaks of the Rockies with their panoramic views, to the diverse ecosystems teeming with wildlife - you'll be immersed in a world of natural wonders.

You will have FOUR world-class photographers and Marketers at your disposal - guiding and coaching you photographically every step of the way as we explore these marvels together.

The Day Before: Hotels, Restaurants And Car Rental nearby

You'll be flying in to Aspen, so the most popular hotel nearby is definitely The Inn At  Aspen which is about 25 minutes drive from the first shoot. If that spot is not what you're looking for you can see other nearby hotels

We will be staying in this hotel for 2 nights, until the Morning of Sept 27th. 

We will be dining at the Home Team BBQ but if that doesn't work for you, no problem! here are a few other restaurants nearby

As with all airport, the car rental options are all conveniently inside the airport. you can see the list here and pick your favorite.

Colorado 3-Day Photo Adventure: Day 1

THURSDAY SEPT 26TH 2024

On Day 1

Capture the beauty of Maroon Bells

 

This trip will make your already impressive portfolio of images pop! As you capture some of the most iconic photos of the mountain range

4:30 am - 8:00 AM (Sunrise 6:52 am) 

The groups leaves the hotels in rental cars towards Maroon bells. (a 45 minute drive) for a spectacular sunrise shoot. There won't be any hiking, and we will have a stunning view of the sunrise over the peaks of mountains and on to the lake

8:00 AM 

On the way back to the hotels, we will visit Hawthorne CO, an old 1890s ghosttown for beautiful photos of the rustic buildings, with another 3-5 stops to capture the aspen trees. 

Lunch break back in Aspen, CO.

After lunch we will do a trip to the local Peter Lik gallery, and get a short nap in before the next shoot

3:30pm  (Sunset 6:49 pm) 

Later in the afternoon we will head out towards Mcclure Pass, giving us many opportunities to stop and capture the golden aspen trees. These shots are some of Bob Augsburg's top selling photos in his entire portfolio. This will be our sunset shoot as well.

Bob and I as a team (plus our 2 other incredible instructors) will shoot together with you and we will see how you compose and what camera settings you use to capture the trees, and of course we’ll coach you as needed! 

After sundown we will head back for dinner.

Colorado 3-Day Photo Adventure: Day 2

FRIDAY SEPT 27TH 2024

 

5:10am-7:10am (Sunrise 6:53 am) 

Dawn shoot at Independence Pass for old mining ghost town and aspen trees, this is one of the most scenic places in Colorado.

Breakfast in Aspen

This will also be a great time to rest some, and check out of your hotel just before 10:30

Leave for Rifle Falls at 10:30 am 

(1:30 hour road trip) Stop at Rifle falls and do a quick lunch afterwards in the town of Rifle, Co.

Leave for Telluride around 1:00 pm 

(3:00 hour road trip) The exact time we are leaving will be around 1:00-1:30, announced in the group WhatsApp chat 

Check in hotel in Ouray, CO. for 2 Nights

Sunset shoot in the San Juan mountains  (Sunset 6:48 pm) 

Dinner in the 1800s gold rush era vintage downtown area.

COLORADO 

3-Day Photo Adventure: Day 3

TUESDAY SEPT 28TH 2024

Morning Shoot (Sunrise 6:54 am) 

Join the group to Lizard Head Pass and the stunning scenic Trout Lake.

Stop along the way on State Route 145

Photograph Mt. Wilson, one of the highest peaks in Colorado. 

10 am Drive to Telluride,

Join in on a downtown photo walk in the antique vintage Victorian-era mountain old town from 11-12 then lunch in downtown Telluride.

2 pm Back to hotels

Drive out of Telluride back to the hotel to nap, edit photos, relax, etc.

Grand Finale (Sunset 7:32 pm)

 

Shoot the Million Dollar Highway, focusing on Crystal Lake with Aspen groves and the breathtaking Vistas from high altitude 

 

It is recommended to fly home the next day, Sept 29th, from Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE)

I accept all level of experience in photography, but just make sure you have the gear needed; otherwise it will be no fun for you. If you are missing a lens or a ND filter don’t worry about it!

  1. If you have a +1 , NOT attending the 3-Day Photo Adventure as a photographer, like a family member (not a photographer partaking in the coaching or lessons etc.) they may attend for no additional fee. They may still get breakfasts with us, dinners, But they will be responsible for any additional costs incurred, (like entrance fees) and will not be coached.

The best airport to fly into is Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE). We recommend flying in on the night of the 25th. You can arrive earlier of course if you want more time to explore before the 3-Day Photo Adventure
