✔️ Your Camera – Any DSLR, mirrorless, or high-quality wildlife camera. Full-frame sensors are great for low light.
✔️ A Tripod – Essential for long-exposure landscapes and low-light conditions.
✔️ A Wireless Remote or Cable Release (Optional but Recommended) – Great for sharp long-exposure shots.
✔️ A Telephoto Lens – Minimum 100-400mm. Ideal for wildlife shots.

✔️ Layered Clothing – Temperatures can range from 30°F to 70°F (0°C to 21°C), depending on location and time of day. Layers are key!
✔️ Waterproof Outer Layer – A rain jacket and waterproof pants are essential—the weather can change fast.
✔️ Insulated Gloves – You’ll want thin liner gloves so you can adjust camera settings without freezing your fingers off.
✔️ Warm Hat & Neck Gaiter/Balaclava – Wind can be brutal, especially in Kaktovik.
✔️ Good Hiking Boots (Waterproof!) – We’ll be on uneven terrain, possibly muddy or icy.
✔️ Wool or Thermal Socks – Cold feet ruin the fun fast—bring a few pairs!
✔️ Hand & Foot Warmers (Highly Recommended!) – Especially useful for high altitude shooting.
I accept all levels of experience in photography, but please make sure you have the gear needed; otherwise, it will be no fun for you. If you are missing a lens or an ND filter, don’t worry!
There will be no long or strenuous hiking or heavy physical exertion needed. People in their 20s-80s join us in these workshops. However, you must be able to walk up a few flights of stairs with your gear. If that is going to be a challenge, this might not be the best next workshop for you.
If you have a Non-Photographer +1, they may attend the entire workshop. But due to the high, hard costs associated with this trip, any +1 on this trip will be the same cost as a regular photographer.

The best airport to fly into is Calgary International Airport (YYC).
We recommend arriving by the afternoon of Day 1 to ensure you're settled and ready for the mandatory 3:00 PM welcome briefing. We’ll meet in Banff for a gear check, safety notes, and a quick creative warm-up led by your instructors before heading to our first shoot location.
Feel free to arrive earlier to explore or acclimate — Banff is a photographer's playground!
After the adventure, you'll fly out of Calgary International Airport (YYC) as well — whether you stick with the 4-day experience or stay for the Day 5 add-on.
The hotels are included in this trip. Details will be shared with you in the private Whatsapp group chat as we get closer to the event!
